John Pak is General Counsel for American Century Investments®, an independent, privately-controlled asset management firm founded in 1958.
Mr. Pak is responsible for all legal and compliance matters for American Century Investments. Mr. Pak also leads the company’s internal audit function and is a member of the American Century Management Committee, the firm's senior leadership team.
Mr. Pak is a member of the Board of the American Century Investments Foundation, which is committed to helping others and building a strong community. The Foundation, established in 2000, grants money to organizations providing innovative opportunities that are sustainable and inspire growth in the communities where American Century employees live and work.
Prior to joining American Century Investments in August 2021, Mr. Pak served as general counsel of BNY Mellon Investment and Wealth Management, one of the top ten largest global asset managers in the world. While at BNY Mellon, Mr. Pak sat on the Board of Directors of Investment Management’s parent company and led the Diversity and Inclusion Program for the BNY Mellon legal department. Mr. Pak held various senior roles at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley before BNY Mellon, including managing director and deputy global head of Deutsche Asset Management Legal.
Mr. Pak holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
